This is a simple floating well-proven surface decanter that works with any pump that can pull suction or by gravity flow. The unique FWD never needs manual adjustment. NEVER!
The FWD decanter is a surface decanter.
The FWD Floating Weir Decanter is automatically self adjusting to your pump’s flow rate—meaning that by controlling your pump or the gravity flow rate—you adjust the decant or cut off the surface from 1/8" to over 2" — automatically!
With only one moving part—the hinged weir—you can easily put this decanter in a closed tank and not have to worry about it screwing up. We like that.

Floating Flow Control Weir Decanter
This decanter starts off with the sump filled with water and ? which floats the weir to the closed position. As fluid is pumped from the decanter sump, the buoyant flow control weir, automatically self adjusts (drops) — allowing an equal amount to flow across the weir and into the floating decanter head. It’s so simple—yet VERY effective. It always decants the surface, ALWAYS! Works with any pump that can pull suction or by gravity flow.
The depth of the decanter cut off the surface, is controlled and set’by the volume pumped from the decanter sump, allowing a surface skim from 1/8" to 2".
No manual adjustment needed—ever! The floating weir decanter self adjusts instantly and automatically to pump or gravity flow rate maintaining constant decant operations.

This non-selective floating decanter creates a floating hole in the water!
Everything on the surface near it—is attracted by the waterfall flow across the weir—and flows into it—and then pumped out (by others). By controlling your pump or gravity flow rate—you can adjust the decant or skim off the surface—from 1/8" to 2" off the top. Finally—a well controlled accurate surface decanter!
One man can easily handle the smaller decanter units.
